While we had great hopes of our biggest Evening for Equality ever, this year has been turned upside down by the COVID-19 pandemic, and our plans for the 25th year with it. Unfortunately this year, our annual gala, Evening for Equality, did not happen.

We need you now more than ever to stand with Georgia Equality by making a donation of a size that is meaningful to you!

We’re concluding our #InvestInEquality online event series with a celebration! Georgia Equality’s 25th year has certainly been one for history books, and at every step you’ve been there with us! Join us to celebrate and prepare for the work still ahead of us– we need you now more than ever! This event will be hosted by Kia “Comedy” Barnes, and will feature musical performances some of LGBTQ Georgia’s finest artists Jamie Barton, Daisia Iman, Thea Jones, Cathleen Quigley, and Exquisite Gender!

Here’s how to watch:

The event will stream live at 7:00 PM on Georgia Equality’s Facebook page — CLICK HERE.

We continued our #InvestInEquality online event series by recognizing Women’s Equality Day! Twenty-five years ago, in 1995, Georgia Equality became an officially recognized organization with the Georgia Secretary of State’s office. In a time when our very sexuality was considered a felony offense, and the promise of broad nondiscrimination protections and marriage equality were considered unattainable, a group of Georgians came together to stand up for all of us.

Ed Stansell, Cherry Spencer-Stark, Brad Wilkinson, Aida Rentas, and Charles Gossett completed the steps to officially establish Georgia Equality 25 years ago, and we haven’t quit working since–and we can’t quit now.

We are all a part of what was started 25 years ago — each of us has pushed a little each day and what we’ve accomplished together is truly amazing. Keep pushing and #InvestInEquality
